We recently had the opportunity and honor to again produce the United States Air Force Academys Annual Ring Dance for the Class of 2018 a celebration for some of the finest young people in the USA. Each class designs its own ring. Ever since Dan was attending the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School in 2009-2010 I have been dreaming about Ring Dance the prestigious ball designated for Second Class Cadets or juniors.

Where ever we go and whatever we do we will carry an emblem of this wonderful place. It is held during Graduation Week before the second-class cadets become first-class cadets and is where they receive their class rings and unveil the class crest. Ring Dance typically takes place during the graduation week of the preceding class as part of the rite of passage for the C2Cs to become Firsties.

Air Force Academy rings are also unique because they are made with white gold instead of the yellow gold used at other service academies. There is an entire dinner ceremony dance and weekend dedicated to the distribution of our rings. Ring Dance a very important event for Cadets an evening of dining guest speakers and ring presentations.

In all its awkward glory here is the time honored tradition of receiving the ring during the ring dance ceremony at USAFA. Cadets choose their own stones for the center of the ring. Donated rings are melted and the resulting ingot goes into the ring production for the current USAFA two-degrees rings which they will put on for the first time at their Ring Dining-In the following May.

Our rings will act as a symbol linking us back to the institution that is the United States Air Force Academy. The center bezel bears the words United States Air Force Academy. She is at the Air Force Academy and they had their Ring Dance on Friday.
